Socitm Futures is responsible for the formulation of policy on behalf of the Society. Its remit is to undertake research and horizon scanning activities and recommend strategy, policy and policy responses to the NAC.
Although Socitm Futures must respond to the NAC as the main body responsible for members’ interests, it will have a degree of autonomy to enable it to respond quickly to change. The group is chaired by Glyn Evans from Birmingham City Council, with support and programme management from Mark Brett (mark.brett@socitm.gov.uk )
Socitm Futures will consult with members around relevant issues. In the case of policy, it will determine Socitm's position regarding policy areas identified as important by the National Advisory Council (NAC).
Like the NAC , Socitm Futures is a representative group whose core membership is drawn from the Socitm regions, EDT (Gateway team), DWP (Gov Connect), CESG, Fire, Socitm' vendor community and private advisors.
