Provides a forum in which members of the Society can discuss and confer on all aspects of the application of information technology in Local Government and the Public Sector.

Co-operates with other bodies to encourage and promote
recognised professional standards among those engaged in the information technology management function in local government and the public sector

Provides a source of professional advice on the application of information technology in local government and the public sector

Confers and liaises with and, where appropriate, advises other bodies on matters concerning the information technology management function in local government and the public sector

Circulates information and holds meetings relating to the objects and affairs of the Society.
