Further information
The event is sponsored by HP and a particular focus of the event will be to review virtualisation technologies.
Hear first hand, the business and technological challenges Exeter City Council faced in delivering service efficiencies. In partnership with Eurodata and HP, discover how Exeter City Council delivered enhanced e-government services, greener IT and built a platform for the future.
The session will also include HP's Head of innovation and sustainable IT, who will provide a valuable insight into future technologies. There will be ample time for questions so come prepared to challenge the panel.
To give a little variety to the morning proceedings, Shey Cobley, of Oxford City Council and the winner of Socitm's Graham Williamson Challenge in 2007, will describe her recent visit to India, and will offer a fascinating insight into the public sector there.
The main presentation in the afternoon will cover professionalism in Delivery Management (DM), one of the competency areas in the Gov. IT Profession. Dr Steve Foreman Head of IT at the Met Office, will outline the conclusion of a cross public sector group of Senior IT Managers on what Delivery Management is, and what is needed to make a good Delivery Manager.
The intention is to initiate discussion on the subject of Delivery Management and explore the possibility of setting up a SW networking group of Delivery Managers.
It will be a topical and interesting event - so please come along.
