Socitm runs a series of benchmarking services to help ICT managers evaluate how efficiently they are managing their own ICT function, how their performance compares with other local authorities and related public services, and how this contributes to organisational performance (eg as measured by the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) for English local authorities).
The benchmarking services use the Socitm Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as the basis for comparison. The KPIs were created by Socitm’s Performance Management Group to help organisations improve performance in the management of ICT.
Four of Socitm benchmarking services are run by Socitm Consulting in conjunction with Socitm Insight:
- Benchmarking the ICT Service
- Benchmarking the outsourced ICT Service
- Benchmarking the LEA ICT Service
- Benchmarking groups of one
You can find more information about these services by following the 'Socitm links' near the bottom of the page.
Benchmarking User Satisfaction is run by Socitm Insight, and further information can be found from the link.
Organisations that want to compare performance using the Socitm KPIs other than through one of the Benchmarking services, can subscribe to the Socitm KPIs database. This holds a subset of the Socitm data and allows subscribers to model the information and make comparison with other organisations.
